Time: 9 - 4pm *bring your own lunch

Age: Grade 5 - 8

Investment: $125 +hst

Location: Vicki Tree Wellness (3626 Line 5 N, Horseshoe Valley)

Instructor: Marianne Smith (35 years First Aid Instructor, Heart and Stroke Instructor, Lifesaving Society Instructor /Examiner, 22 year Firefighter & Ontario BoarFD, Certified Paramedic.

DESCRIPTION

This highly interactive hands-on babysitter’s program is instructed by a retired Paramedic and Firefighter, with 40 years of first aid training experience.This course is a great option for any child who will be staying home alone and/or looking after a younger sibling. It will prepare you to keep the kids in your care safe, happy and healthy and give you the confidence needed to take on such a huge responsibilty. Topics include:

• job preparedness, key questions to ask

• injury awareness/prevention

• safety tips (use of a fire extinguisher, intruders)

• handling emergencies/ making 911 call

• First aid topics: choking, bleeding, asthma, allergic reactions, seizures, head injuries, water related emergencies

• CPR & AED skills for Infant and Child

***Bonus: Leave with accreditation: Heart and Stroke Heartsaver CPR AED valid for 1 yeear

CANCELLATION POLICY: Given this has limited space and the instructor is booked well in advance, there is no refund if you cancel 3 weeks prior to the start of this session. Should you cancel before 3 weeks of course starting, you will be refunded, minus a $20 admin fee
